Marian Thiede studied in the Antoni Kenar State School
of Arts and Crafts (PLTP) in Zakopane, diploma at State
Higher School of Arts (PWSSP) in Gdańsk, member of Association of Art in Bydgoszcz. Laureate all-Polish contest for
Art Instructors- Rzeszów ‘85, contest for painting “Beauty of Tuchola's land” ‘87 and ‘88, ScienceFiction Art contest "ImpossibleFigures"-"Fantastyka" ‘87,

In 1998, he took the third place in the competition for the portrait of Pope John Paul II - now the portrait is in the church under the invocation of st. Jakub in Tuchola. Another painting view of Pope John Paul II by Marian Thiede can be found in
the Tuchola church under the invocation of Corpus Christi.

Author of the statue of the Mother of God with the Child located on the market square in Tuchola on the site of the pre-war church.

In 2012, he made a sculpture depicting Kazimierz Jagiellończyk - the King of Poland, located in the 1000th Anniversary Park
in Chojnice. There is also a figure of Piotr Dunin made by
a sculptor in Tuchola in 2014.

In 2013, he made a statue of St. Anna, located near
the Cultural Center. In the nearby Ciechocin, there is a statue
of St. Martin made and unveiled in 2020.

He made a plaster bust of priest Lt. Col. Józef Wrycza (posthumously promoted to the rank of general), which is now in the Pilgrim House in Wiele. The work was presented in Tuchola in 2016 during the scientific conference "Rev. Lt. Col. Józef Wrycza - new facts".

In the seventies, eighties and nineties of the twentieth century, he designed and made several original thematic murals in Tuchola. for the fire brigade (Don't play with fire) on Szkolna Street or for a kindergarten on Bydgoska Street (Mural with playing children).

The artist, apart from many landscape paintings and still lifes, also creates portraits. In the School Complex in Chojnice
( Nowe Miasto Street) there is a gallery with portraits of teachers and distinguished graduates, in which there are many portraits painted by Marian Thiede (including: Stefan Bieszk, Antoni Horst, Ludwik Zabrocki, Stanisław Sawicki, Władysław Tatarkiewicz , Tadeusz Czapla, Stanisław Sikorski, Helena and Bogumił Hoffmann, Mieczysław Szczepański and others)

In 2015, the artist took part in a project organized by the Italian Imago Mundi Foundation, which ended with exhibitions in various European cities. The work in the collection can be viewed on the Imago Mundi Collection website. The summary
of the Imago Mundi project presenting Polish artists is an extensive catalog "Poland: The Future at Last".
